Indicative

2027 draft order Who holds each pick if 2027 finishes like 2026

Every club in the order the 2026 ladder put them, from the bottom, with every 2027 pick traded so far and Tasmania Devils' concession picks. It changes when a trade moves a 2027 pick.

An indication, not the draft order. The 2027 order follows the 2027 ladder and finals. Trades to 14 October 2026. The 2026 order is this year's.

What it assumes

The 2026 ladder, trades to date, and nothing else

The clubs pick in the order the 2026 home-and-away ladder finished, from the bottom: Essendon first, Fremantle last. The real order follows the 2027 ladder and finals.
Tasmania Devils has picks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 in round one, and the first pick of every later round. It must trade 5, 7, 11 and 13, and may carry them into a later draft. The 2027 rules.
No free agency compensation, father-son or academy bids, or bottom-five picks: none are known yet. A club that runs a deficit matching a bid this year loses points from its 2027 first, which can move it back.
No points. The AFL hasn't published the 2027 Draft Value Index.
4 rounds, as many as this year's published order. The draft itself can run longer for clubs with list spots.

The order

Round 1 has 25 picks: one for each of the 18 clubs, and Tasmania Devils' 7. 17 of the 2027 picks have changed hands so far.
